Coach Travel to Edinburgh

Coach travel is another way of travelling to and from Edinburgh.  The bus takes you right into the centre of town.  And it’s usually the best choice for budget travellers.

Edinburgh’s bus station is St Andrew Square.  Recently refurbished, this new and clean-looking station now boasts computerised monitors that tell you when each bus is leaving from, from which stance.  (This may not sound impressive if you’re used to International travel – but you should have seen the old bus station!)

Go by Coach is the leading online service for UK bus travel.

Another advantage of bus travel is that you can see more of the country. (The one disadvantage of air travel, in my opinion,)  It’s also great if you live far from a mainline station.  And some people just prefer the bus.

Go by Coach have a great online booking system.  And here’s the best part.  You can even print off your ticket on your own printer.  It’s security coded.  So you just hand it to the driver of the bus when you board.  How cool is that?  Hopefully, one day all travel tickets will be made this way.  Here’s hoping.

Read the ticket information carefully on the site, as you’ll probably find a bargain tucked in all the small print.  I know, it’s confusing all those options.  But take a few minutes and you’ll undoubtedly save some money.
